The Wolf Scholars Program invites educators to champion students who demonstrate academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, leadership potential, and strength of character. While nominations enhance a student’s application, a student may still apply without one.
Schools are invited to nominate up to 3 students. The method through which you select the nominated students is at your discretion.
Students do not need to know if they are nominated to begin their Wolf Scholars application, as students also have the option to directly apply to the Program.
Students initiate the nomination validation process from their application portal. Educators will receive an online form to verify nominations for students after nominated students trigger the validation access.
A school nomination is important as it provides added strength to an application.
Students do not need a nomination to apply for Wolf Scholars - educators should continue to encourage students without a nomination to apply.
Schools must validate nominations by the student application date.
The Program is looking for Canada's brightest students who exhibit our core traits of leadership, curiosity and character.
Use the resources provided by the Program. Updated resources including the School Toolkit and digital collateral will be available to schools prior to the next application cycle. Encourage students to start their Wolf Scholars application early.
Choose up to three students to nominate via internal process. Copies of the Wolf Scholars application will be available for educators to review.
Students that are not nominated should still be encouraged to submit their applications.
Nominated students will initiate a nomination verification via the application portal. Educators will receive a form to validate the school nomination. Schools do not need to submit nominated student information directly to Wolf Scholars.
The Wolf Scholars Program offers a transformative undergraduate experience, empowering students to become innovative leaders and global citizens. We seek to partner with schools that share our commitment to fostering academic excellence, leadership, and a passion for positive change. By nominating your exceptional students, you provide them with a unique opportunity to access a world-class education, a supportive community, and the resources they need to make a meaningful impact on the world.
Program Info
Selecting which students to nominate is an internal process and a decision made by each school. To help educators in their selection process, we provide the application questions and reference questions in our school toolkit, which is made available to educators in advance of each selection cycle.
Nominating a student strengthens their application. 60% of the Wolf Scholars Class of 2026 had nominations from their schools. Students are still strongly encouraged to apply even without a nomination.
Nominatons must be validated by the school Principal, Vice-Principal(s) or Guidance Counselor(s). Multiple people can nominate, as long as your school nominates no more than three students in total. The method through which your school decides upon its nominated students is at your discretion.
No. To nominate, schools must verify the nomination request form that will be triggered by the nominated student via their application platform. Applicants are also required to submit two references, each of whom will complete a reference form. School leadership may serve as nominators and can also act as references for applicants.
Yes, you may nominate the same student for Wolf Scholars as well as other scholarships.
School nominations play an important role in identifying talent and add a point of strength to a student’s application. However, the nomination does not guarantee advancement. Students who are not nominated by their school should also be encouraged to apply independently.
Internally, select up to three students to nominate and inform them of their nomination. Once nominated, students will trigger a nomination verification form within their application, which will be sent to their nominator for confirmation. Nominators are not required to submit the student’s application on their behalf or contact the Wolf Scholars team directly with the names of nominated students.
Yes, you can nominate them! Students applying to other Faculties at the University of Toronto (such as Engineering, Nursing, Commerce, or Architecture) are also eligible to be nominated, as long as they are also applying to the Faculty of Arts & Science. The Wolf Scholars Program is housed in the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science, so nominees must have an application there to be considered.
