Digital Marketing & Communications Manager

As the first hire in the Marketing & Communications function, the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for establishing the program’s public presence, shaping its voice, and developing engaging digital content to reach key audiences. This role is both strategic and operational, involving planning, execution and measurement. The Digital Marketing & Communications Manager will have a drive for excellence and a passion for creating and managing inspiring digital content.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a digital communications strategy to promote the Foundation’s mission and engage key audiences

- Manage day-to-day digital marketing operations, including a robust editorial calendar, website updates, and social media strategy

- Create compelling digital content for the Foundation’s website, social media platforms, e-mail communications and Scholar recruitment

- Manage and grow the Foundation’s social media presence, ensuring engagement with key stakeholders

- Develop and execute digital campaigns for programs, events, and fundraising initiatives using data & analytics to refine strategies

- Oversee website maintenance, ensuring a strong brand identity

- Over time, manage and mentor team members focused on content creation

 

Qualifications

The Digital Marketing & Communications Manager should hold a degree from an accredited four-year university or college, preferably with a focus on marketing, communications, business, languages or journalism. Ideal candidates will embody the core qualities the Foundation aims to cultivate in Wolf Scholars: curiosity about the world, a passion for life-long learning, open-mindedness, a collaborative spirit, humility, optimism, a focus on excellence and a drive to build an impactful program for Canada.

Experience

- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or content creation – we welcome applicants with both strategic vision and hands-on execution skills

- Strong expertise in content creation, including copywriting, video editing, and graphic design

Attributes

- Exceptional writing skills for various platforms and audiences

- Strong analytical skills with experience using data-driven insights to optimize engagement

- Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic planning in a fast-moving environment

- Reliable, detail-oriented, and adaptable, with excellent organizational skills

 

Preferred Skills and Platforms

- Proficiency with content management systems like WordPress and Webflow

- Knowledge of digital project management processes and best practices

- Proficiency with making high-quality video and static content for social media

- Familiarity with design tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro)

- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

 

Additional Employment Details

- Reports to: Executive Director, Margot Ghersin

- Working: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada

- Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000 plus bonus; flexible based on experience

- Ideal Start Date: April / May 2024

- Eligibility: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
